Chasing 70°

First 48 hours living in an RV…we hit the road with every nook and cranny of the RV packed to the gills and our hearts full of excitement and anticipation! 2 hours later, we arrived in Wichita Falls, to hunker down for the night. Plugged the electrical cord into shore power, began to extend the slides and then we were met with the terrible sound of nothing - the slide just died, extended half way. By 1:30am, we had fanned through every RV manual, made multiple phone calls, and were visited by a mobile mechanic who found no success. Collapsing into bed, we hoped for a smoother tomorrow. Tomorrow did come, and an amazing man named “Shane” from the manufacturer walked Alex virtually through locating a blown fuse (not an easy task) and replacing it. And boom - we were in business! Brought the slide in and hit the road for Angel Fire, New Mexico.

Alex made the 10 hour drive to New Mexico while Jen worked - check out the views we were met with, along with MUCH cooler temps than those in Texas! Our excitement was short lived, as we encountered a leaking bathroom pipe which required removal and re-caulking, and then an overflow valve in our water tank broke. Similar to our RV, we had blown a fuse and were struggling and conflicting poorly.

But God…He reminded us through good friends, that this is His plan and His story, and to simply trust and be obedient to what each day holds. We were encouraged not to rely on our own understanding of these crazy 48 hours, but to rely on Him to make our paths straight. We were being reminded that “this is not happening TO us, but FOR us”. And how thankful we were for this perspective shift!!
